"THE MILLENNIA COLLECTION: Glorious Christmas Music, Songs and Carols" is a masterpiece of holiday literature. It is the ultimate Christmas collection ... and
should be a classic for generations."

The contributions of America's musicians to the
Christmas celebration has been remarkably rich and diverse. American Christmas Classics brings
together, for the first time in one collection, a comprehensive offering
of this beloved music. The lavishly illustrated American Christmas Classics, embodying the musical essence of the Christmas season, is sure
to be welcomed by those who cherish the meaning of this joyous
holiday.

American Christmas Classics,
culled from THE "MILLENNIA COLLECTION: Glorious Christmas Music,
Songs, and Carols," represents the ultimate multimedia resource. This
excellent tribute to American Christmas carols and songs illuminates a
popular, though oddly neglected, corner of American life and culture. It
is highly recommended to both lovers of Christmas and those interested in
American culture.

Bruce R.
Schueneman, Co-author, editor, and translator | Lest the title elicit
thoughts of a book strictly for children, let me say immediately that
Children's Christmas Classics is most definitely a book worthy of study by all ages
(including the occasional musicologist!) and interesting, both textually
and visually, to all ages. The accompanying recordings complete this
wonderful addition to the body of work. . . . . Without doubt, this is a
volume that should be on every bookshelf of every musician with an
interest in Christmas music, every public library, and everyone who loves
Christmas music, whatever their age.

The Millennia Collection promises to be an outstanding series – the songs, their
histories, historical context, and beautiful artwork. I received both volumes on ChristmasDay, 2002, and I am immensely impressed.

Children's Christmas
Classics exceeds whatever expectations I had. It
is quite a remarkable and marvelous work and is clearly the result of some
very sustained conscientious effort . . . . Graphically, I can't imagine
how this would be improved.

Best-Loved Christmas Carols is
a gift of magnificent proportions to the reading and listening public
across the American and English-speaking world. Here is a fascinating book
with little-known facts and interesting stories, luminously gorgeous
pictures and sumptuous musical settings, all uniquely packaged, as a unit .
. . There is truly something for everyone.

The closest current matches to American Christmas Classics would be Time-Life's Treasury of Christmas or two by the Reader's Digest: The Joy of Christmas and Christmas Through the Years. In each of these cases, the music emanates more from a pop perspective and lacks the historical context presented at the beginning of American Christmas Classics. Further, the audio choices seem to be dictated by something other than best practice. American Christmas Classics is the best choice for music professionals among the four options.
